I’m Jo – your host at Orka Sauna.
Originally from Nottingham, we arrived here on the beautiful Moray Coast via the sun-drenched city of Perth, Western Australia where we lived for several years.
Before taking time off to raise my daughters, I worked as a massage therapist in England & Western Australia providing corporate wellness massage treatments to national and global companies. This experience has taught me the importance of relaxation and self-care.
Sauna Inspiration
My love of sauna came from many years visiting friends in Finland. In the winter we enjoyed our friends home sauna before rushing out to roll in the snow. In the summer we visited the family smoke sauna (savusauna) in the woods, the oldest and most traditional type of Finnish Sauna, embracing the löyly before jumping into the lake to cool down. Sauna is a magical experience, leaving you feeling serene and glowing with health.
